Why use the GTM Cookie Plugin for WordPress?

A good-looking cookie banner only helps if the visitor's choice also affects tracking, analytics and advertising tags. That's often where things go wrong: the interface looks right, but GTM still fires too soon.

This plugin connects the consent process: visitors choose in the cookie bar, WordPress stores and manages the settings, and Google Tag Manager receives the signals it needs to decide whether tags may load.

Practical cookie consent. GDPR-compliant, adaptable and easy to use.

01

Privacy first, from the initial page view

Consent Mode v2 starts with consent set to denied, helping prevent analytics or marketing tags from loading before a visitor has made a choice.

02

GTM configuration without guesswork

The plugin provides clear dataLayer events for analytics and advertising. The guide explains which signals your Tag Manager tags should wait for.

03

Adaptable to your brand

Manage colours, copy, labels, categories, the privacy policy link, layout, overlay and light or dark appearance in WordPress.

04

A clear handover for clients and marketing teams

WordPress settings are paired with practical GTM instructions, making the division between website administration and marketing configuration clear.

Download the GTM Cookie Plugin

Download the ZIP file and install it through WordPress administration. Then follow the GTM guide to make analytics and marketing tags wait for consent.
